Who is adaptive dance for?

S.O.D.A. Pop Stars Adaptive Dance Team is for dancers who may have physical, cognitive, or emotional disabilities, including but not limited to autism spectrum disorders, Down syndrome, and those using wheelchairs or mobility aids.

What to expect?

We are here to dance, but first we are here to have FUN! Dancers are encouraged to participate as much as they can in a low-pressure environment. Classes follow a similar format each week to provide a comfortable predictability with dancer-chosen music, props, and more!

Our spring session includes optional participation in a S.O.D.A. recital.

What are the benefits of Adaptive Dance?

Students in adaptive dance get to move to their favorite music in an accessible and low-pressure environment, all while having an authentic dance class experience!

Additional benefits include:

  • Socialization with peers and other special needs families

  • Physical movement and exercise

  • Coordination and motor planning

  • Performing in a recital in an accessible and modified environment

  • Having FUN!

Who runs and teaches adaptive dance?

S.O.D.A. Pop Stars is run entirely by volunteers (12+)! Are you interested in helping out?
